Job Description
As an Experimental Operations Avionics Technician, you will work on the tilt rotor aircraft. You will support flight test operational activities and perform reconfiguration activities to ensure the aircraft is properly fitted for each certification and experimental test. You will also perform functional test procedures to ensure avionics systems are functioning within design parameters and troubleshoot to identify non-conformities and defects.
Responsibilities
- Assist the experimental operations team in performing inspections on the aircraft as instructed through Engineering Technical Instructions.
- Participate with the team to prepare the experimental aircraft for flight by performing daily inspections, ensuring all maintenance is complete, and towing, launching, and recovering the aircraft into the hangar.
- Participate in Functional Test Procedures to test systems on the ground prior to flight to ensure system functionality and flight safety.
- Perform first-of-type and prototype installations and software updates with engineering input and work instructions.
- Follow job cards to remove and install LRUs and components as needed.
- Work with the Supervisor to maintain a highly motivated workforce and achieve a high-performing team.
Essential Skills
- 10 years of aviation experience
- A&P License (Preferred)
- Skilled in Mechanical & Structural Operations
- Experience working on Tilt-Rotor aircraft (Preferred)
- Experience working on experimental or development aircraft (Preferred)
- Ability to work any shift (Days/Swing/Nights)
- Ability to travel for off-site aircraft testing
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 8-10 years of hands-on experience with operating aircraft required (rotor or fixed wing)
- Experience with experimental activity or experimental prototype aircraft preferred
- Must be able to perform avionics system troubleshooting

Work Environment
This position is based in a high-tech manufacturing facility with a fast-paced environment. The work schedule is 1st Shift from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with overtime and weekend work expected

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $79040.00/yr.
